Savour Kilkenny needs you! This is a community festival and will be all the richer for your involvement. Here's how you can get involved:
VOLUNTEER FOR THE FESTIVAL
We need enthusiastic and passionate people to be part of our team for the festival weekend. All sorts of jobs will be available! Have a fantastic experience and even improve your event management skills.
HOST A FRINGE PERFORMER OR VOLUNTEER?
If you would like to host a fringe performer or volunteer in your own home during the festival, please let us know. It's a great way to support the festival, make new friends (and perhaps even learn how to juggle fruit)
TAKE A STALL FOR THE WEEKEND
This year, up to 60 covered food stalls will sell produce, cooked food and promote their businesses in an open-air-market on the Parade Plaza in the heart of Kilkenny city. At the centre of the market will be a covered marquee hosting competitions, demonstrations, mini workshops and events for up to 200 people. As well as the smells, sounds and sights of the best of regional food, visitors will also enjoy family-friendly street entertainment. The majority of stalls are allocated to Kilkenny producers with a small allocation reserved for regional producers. Kilkenny food businesses have up to August 31st to get their stall secured, after which time all remaining stalls will be open to regional food businesses.
The cost of a three metre by three metre stall is only €200 plus VAT for the weekend. The real cost should be €800 euros but this is being subsidised by the festival. Where possible the festival will facilitate stand sharing by very small businesses as the festival is keenly aware that we are facing very challenging economic times. PARTICIPATE IN THE FESTIVAL
Savour Kilkenny is all about celebrating and promoting local food businesses so why not treat your loyal customers and bring in new faces by hosting a creative event or putting on a special Savour menu (featuring local food produce). Last year's events included a Paella party, kids' pizza parties, wine tasting, Thai cookery, pumpkin carving and much more. For just €180 & VAT, participants become an official part of the festival and are included in our programme (30,000 of which will be distributed), our website (which received thousands of visitors in the run up to last year's festival) and in our nationwide publicity campaign.
