Daniels Famous Donegal Seafood Chowder

Serves: 2-4


  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 diced carrot
  • 1 diced celery stick
  • 1 diced leek
  • 1 white onion diced
  • 30g butter
  • 100mls sambuca
  • 200lmls white wine
  • 1l vegetable stock
  • Corn flour to thicken
  • 30g cod
  • 30g smoked haddock
  • 400ml double cream


Dice all Vegetables into cubes

Cut the fish into bite sized chunks

In a pot cook the vegetables until soft

Add the sambca and reduce

Add the wine and reduce for 3 mins

Add the stock and reduce for 5 minutes

Thicken with the cornflour and cook until thick

Add the Cream and milk

Cook until Fish is flakey

Season and enjoy
